An electrophysiology study and catheter ablation are performed to diagnose and focus on your heart's timing, or electrical system, and on diagnosing and treating irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias. This treatment can treat abnormal heart rhythms such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia.

Electrophysiology studies test the electrical activity of your heart to find where an arrhythmia (abnormal heartbeat) is coming from. These results can help you and your doctor decide whether you need medicine, a pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), cardiac ablation or surgery (AHA, 2016).

Arch Health offers Electrophysiology services at the following locations:

  • Poway – Pomerado Outpatient Pavilion office
  • Escondido – Citracado Parkway office
