Arch Health Partners Named Top Physician Group In State

Poway, Calif.- Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA) has named Arch Health Partners as one of the top 45 performing physician organization in California.
Among 221 physician groups, the top 45 performers achieved the highest overall quality in 2009 based on IHA statewide Pay for Performance (P4P) program measures.
The four measurement areas were clinical quality, patient experience, use of information technology-enabled systems and coordinated diabetes care. Those medical groups scoring in the top 20 percent were deemed top performers by IHA, which aims to promote quality improvement, accountability and affordability throughout the state. The top performing groups are identified by calculating composite  scores in eacy of the domains, which are then weighted according to the recommended p4p payment weightings. An overall performance composite score for each participating physician group is calculated, and the 20% of the groups with the highest overall composite score are designed as top overall performers. Based on the scores, Arch Health Partners will recieve $260,000 for its performance.
In 2009, Arch Health Partners, formerly known as Center for Healthcare, also received IHA's Bangasser named most improved medical group by IHA.
"Our vision focuses on coordinating quality medical care for our patients at all levels,: said Stuart Graham, M.D. pediatrician and board member of Arch Health Partners. "At each opportunity, we ephasize education, prevention and patient satisfaction. We believe in personal relationships as the beginning of quality care and we empower our team to work with patients to individualize care for thier needs."
Pay for Performance Payouts
In addition to being used for determining awards, the 2009 measurement year results are used by seven health plans- Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, CIGNA HealthCare of California, Health Net of California, Western Health Advantage, and United Healthcare- to calculate incentive payments for distribution to physician groups in 2010. Health plan incentive payments paid in 2009 were $52 million to physician organizations as a result of meeting P4P measurements criteria for clinical quality, patient experience, and information technology-enabled systemness. 2009 payouts are distributed during the fall of 2010.
