Dr. Grove has been in practice in North County San Diego since 2008.  He came from a nine-year stint in the Navy, specializing in the field of trauma and acute care surgery. In 2005, he was instrumental in establishing the Bariatric Surgery program at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, serving as the Director during his service there. He was underway on the USS Peleliu on 9/11 and deployed with the Marines to Fallujah Iraq in 2004. His final deployment was to Djibouti Africa in 2007. He practiced trauma surgery until 2014 when he started MISNC with his new partners.

Dr. Grove has expertise in minimally invasive surgery, including use of the DaVinci robotic system, both multi-port and single site. His interests lay in the minimally invasive treatment of foregut disease, abdominal hernias, solid organ surgery, gastrointestinal malignancy and breast disease. He's been a key player in the robotic program at the Palomar campus, and in starting the robotics program at the Poway campus. Dr. Grove currently serves as Medical Director of Perioperative Medicine at Palomar Medical Center – Poway.

When he’s not operating to support his three boys in college, Dr. Grove can be found flying, tending his avocado grove and Sangiovese vines, feeding his farm animals, or spending time with his wife of almost 30 years! He is most comfortable in the air and has been a private pilot since he was 18 years old. He is now a commercial multi-engine instrument rated pilot.
