Biography
Dr. Fierer is a general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery. His clinical interests include the use of minimally invasive surgery and robotic surgery for the treatment of a wide range of conditions including colon and rectal cancers, as well as adrenal, splenic and pancreatic diseases. Dr. Fierer is highly skilled in the use of minimally invasive surgery for gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) and in the repair of both simple and complex abdominal hernias.
Dr. Fierer has been recognized eight times by the San Diego County Medical Society as one of San Diego’s Top Doctors. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is past president of the San Diego Society of General Surgeons. Dr. Fierer volunteers with several organizations, including the San Diego County Medical Society’s Project Access, which provides surgical care to the indigent population of San Diego. He has completed several medical missions to provide surgical assistance to people in underserved areas.
A San Diego native, Dr. Fierer enjoys spending time with his family and friends and stays active by participating in softball and football leagues, skiing and surfing. He hopes to spend more time sharing the joys of travel with his family and introducing his children to a variety of new places, people and cultures.
